This means you’ll be able to fill and refill your pet’s prescriptions during your visits, making it that much easier to pick up the essentials.

Keeping our own pharmacy open also ensures that your animal companion will always have quick access to the most effective medications on the market whenever he or she is in our care. In the event that your pet becomes ill, having these medications on-hand can be critical to your loved one’s treatment and care. Ingersoll Animal Hospital is pleased to carry an on-site inventory of more than 300 medications to handle just about any situation that may arise for your pet.

Home Delivery, Online Prescription Refills and Supplies

For your convenience, we are pleased to offer home delivery on many of our prescription refills. Please note, all refills must be approved by the doctor. In most cases, patients must have had a physical exam at Ingersoll Animal Hospital within the past year and have been seen recently for the condition in question in order to receive a refill. Additionally, many long-term medications require periodic examinations and lab work in order to receive prescription refills.

New clients will need to have a physical exam with one of our veterinarians prior to receiving any type of prescription medication.

We generally request that you allow a full business day to process your requests. If this is an EMERGENCY or you need faster service, please call our office directly at 515-274-3555.

We will contact you if you choose to have the prescription mailed to you. At that time, we will inform you of the total cost of your pet’s prescription and will request a credit card number for payment. We provide FREE SHIPPING on all heartworm medication and flea products. For all other shipped items, there is a $5.00 mailing charge.

Please note: controlled medications cannot be shipped by mail. These drugs can only be picked up in person.

Flea, Tick and Heartworm Prevention Products

Simply put, parasites can wreak havoc, causing serious illness or even death in your pet. Fortunately, they are easily prevented and we have several different forms of preventatives to choose from. These include: monthly chewable tablets, topical solutions and a 6-month injection for heartworms for dogs.

At Ingersoll Animal Hospital, we believe it is important for your pet to be on flea, intestinal parasite, and heartworm prevention year-round. Our veterinarians may also recommend seasonal tick preventatives, depending on your pet’s unique risk of exposure. These preventatives not only protect your pet from multiple parasites, but also keep your family safe from danger. Some pets can harbor zoonotic parasites that can potentially be transmitted from your pets to your family.
