What will laser therapy do for my pet? 

Laser therapy applied with the Companion therapy laser (link) system provides a sterile, pain-free, surgery- free, drug-free treatment to decrease inflammation, decrease pain and accelerate healing in your pet.

Laser therapy is used to treat a variety of injuries, wounds, fractures, neurological conditions including back or IV disc disease numerous skin problems, and pain. Whether your pet is recovering from trauma or injury, healing from wounds, or simply aging, your family pet member will benefit from this revolutionary new approach to Veterinary medicine.

Laser therapy is an FDA approved deep penetrating laser that is the only course of treatment that actually stimulates the body to heal from within. Non-thermal photons of light are administered to the body and absorbed by the injured cells. The cells are then stimulated and respond with a higher rate of metabolism. This results in increased circulation from the body, an anti-inflammatory reaction, relief from pain and an acceleration of the healing process.   When used properly, there are no negative side effects.

Simply put, it provides relief.

The fur does not need to be clipped. Eye protection will be worn by the laser technician and anyone in close proximity to the laser probe. The eyes of the animal will be directed away from the treatment area or covered with a towel or eye wear. The technician will move the probe over the area of treatment to assure the laser is being delivered to the area which needs improvement.

As the laser is administered, your pet will relax and enjoy, much like you, experiencing a good massage or “spa treatment.” The almost immediate relief of pain will allow your pet to be comfortable and any anxiety that your pet initially experienced will dissipate.  Occasionally, angry cats will start to purr and dogs will fall asleep during their therapy session.
